What's left of the Pipestone Ferry that crossed the Wapiti River is resting its final days at Pipestone Creek Park, in northern Alberta. The Pipestone Ferry crossed the Wapiti River to enable travellers to get to Grovedale (to the south) until a bridge was built at O'Brien Park in 1958 (located 11 km south of Grande Prairie.) Restoration of the the ferry was considered by the County of Grande Prairie but it was too far gone to save. DiscoverThePeaceCountry.com
