Hawryluk, Sather Tie for Best Right Winger Award
Bond Hawryluk of the Grimshaw Huskies and Dustin Sather of the Spirit River Rangers share the Best Left Wing Award this season.
Hawryluk received only one first place vote to Sather’s five but five second place votes tied Sather for the award. Each were named on six ballots.
Sather led the Rangers in scoring this season with 13-18-31 points, which was good enough for a tie for fourth in league scoring with Manning’s Brendan Baumgartner. Hawryluk recorded 3-8-11 totals but played in only 11 of Grimshaw’s 20 games.
Hawryluk is the first Husky to win the award since Matt Ripely in 1998-99. Ralph Paul also won in 1973-74.
Sather becomes a three-time winner. He also won the award in 2011-12 and 2012-13. Other Rangers to win include Mike Lefley in 2010-11 and Kelly Hrycun in 2002-03.
