CKNL-AM Fort St John - 1972

Ken Connors is pictured sitting in the CKNL Radio Studio in 1972. One of the most difficult radio shows was during the Russia -Canada Hockey Game. A television was set up in the control room with everyone gathered around. Ken would relay the updates of the hockey game on his radio show and you could hear the staff cheering in the background.

Ken Connors arrived at CKNL Fort St John in the latter part of 1972 coming straight from a part time job at CKXL Calgary. His goal was to earn his dues and get the experience in the over-all aspects of broadcasting, which included doing an on-air show, voicing and producing advertising commercials, and also reading the news.

In 1972 Ken's on-air show at CKNL was 1-5:30pm.
