Bob Layton started broadcasting at CKNL-AM Fort St. John, BC 1970. It wasn't much later that he landed a news job at 630 CHED and became News Director in 1995. He is known for his Editorials on Global Television. He also was New Director at CHQT 2007-2008. It became iNews 880 AM.

Many people first became involved with radio attending the Bob Layton School of Broadcasting. Bob left the school in 2007.

Bob Layton is still involved in the entertainment business with Layton Music for parties and weddings with his two sons. Also provides After-Dinner Entertainment.
