Grande Prairie,

When Ken Connors wanted to give away prizes using a helicopter spotting CFGP Winstickers in 1981, everyone at the radio station said it couldn't be done. No one had ever heard of this being done before.

"The mobile radio wouldn't work...it only has a distance of a mile.....we can't get a helicopter cause it would cost too much" were some of the comments.

Highland Helicopters was more than happy to be involved for just the exposure, and when a test was done, everyone was surprised of the distance the mobile radio would operate once it was high in the air. (more than 30 miles.)

Ken Connors along with Chris Rodts (CFGP's Engineer) took the challenge of spotting CFGP Winstickers with a helicopter. Ken was live on the radio while Chris was on the binoculars. "We were quite high in the air and you could see cars trying to follow us. As we changed direction, some cars were turning around hoping we would call their licence plate. It definetly was one of the most exciting things we ever did" - Ken
