In the fall of 1978 Grande Prairie Mayor Al Romanchuk and CFGPs Ken Connors walk Miss Grande Prairie across the tarmac at the airport Saturday morning to her CP flight destined to take her to Edmonton on the first leg of her Toronto journey and the Miss Canada Pageant contest.
When the Miss Canada Pageant was broadcaste on Television, just about everyone in Grande Prairie and area was watching.
This picture appeared in the Grande Prairie Booster, Wednesday November 1, 1978.
