Archived photo: The Village of Hythe Municipal Office was located downtown and part of the same building was the Hythe Library. The Hythe Office officially closed on June 30, 2021. The transistion to becoming a Hamlet followed a vote by residents to dissolve the village and become part of the County of Grande Prairie. The Village dissolved due to the rising operational costs and costly infrastructure repairs that were unaffordable. The Services and administration were now being deliverd at the County Offices in Clairmont. With the Village of Hythe Office closing, the building was upgraded and is home to the Hythe Community Library and FCSS - Family and Community Support Services. (photo 2024) Hythe, Alberta.
