Near the entance of the Village of Hines Creek, Alberta is the "End of Steel" Spike which is the world's largest spike. Hines Creek was the furthest point north and west that the Canadian National Railway built its track. The spike measures 13 feet high and 15 inches wide and was erected in 1992.
