The Hudson's Bay Company Factor's House built in 1878 still stands today. Just a short distance to the west of the bridge along the banks of the Peace River. (north side of the river). The House was built with squared timbers on a stone foundation that also included a cellar. There were four rooms and was first used by James McDouugall who was the Factor for some 40 years. A Factor is a trader who receives and sells goods on commission. The Factor's House is surrounded by Maple Trees. Dunvegan Provincial Park, Alberta.
